To start with this amazingly quick recipe, you need a good heavy bottom pan. The recipe is slightly different from the traditional way of cooking lasagna, but the flavors and taste are maintained in this recipe, so you need not worry about compromising on these factors. This easy lasagna recipe will make your job pretty quick and of course it will be delicious too.

Easy Skillet Lasagna Recipe

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ lb ground sausage
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
  • 2 garlic finely chopped
  • 2 shallot finely chopped
  • 1 26 oz. Finely chopped tomatoes ( do not drain)
  • 6 large basil chopped finely
  • 2 springs of thyme
  • 2 tablespoon of finely chopped Italian Parsley, some extra more for garnishing
  • 2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 6 oz. Canned tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon anchovy paste
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 10 oz. Lasagna noodles, broken into four pieces
  • 2 cups Parmesan cheese
  • 6-8 fresh Mozzarella

Directions to Cook

Take a large sauce pan and heat it over medium high heat. Add both varieties of meats, garlic powder, salt, pepper and onion powder to the pan and mix well. Cook the meat without stirring too much so that a slight crust is achieved to the meat. Transfer meat to a plate and now add shallots and cook until it is translucent. This will take around 2 minutes to achieve. Add some garlic and cook for another 30 minutes. Stir in the shallot and garlic to the meat that was set aside. Pour in finely chopped tomatoes. Add basil, thyme, oregano, parsley and bay leaves. Mix in tomato paste, anchovy paste and chicken broth and allow it to boil.

Now add the broken lasagna noodles and lower the heat to simmer. Cover the pan with a lid and allow it to cook for another 20-25 minutes. Stir the mix occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat once the noodles reach the required consistency and cooked completely. Add in the Parmesan cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese. Top it up with remaining Mozzarella cheese and then transfer the pan to the oven to broil until the cheese bubbles. Once this is done, remove it from the oven and top it up with chopped parsley leaves. Serve immediately.
